Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
LemonMint ("LemonMint," "we," "us," or "our") is an informational vehicle-history reporting service. We help private-party car buyers make more informed decisions before completing a purchase. We are not a licensed inspection service, dealership, broker, or financial advisor, and we do not participate in vehicle transactions in any way.
2. Information We Collect
When you submit a vehicle check request, we collect:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) — used to query third-party data sources on your behalf.
- Mileage and asking price — used to contextualize market value and true-cost estimates within your report.
- Payment method preference (cash or financing) and, if financing, your stated APR — used solely to generate cost-of-ownership figures in your report.
- Email address — used to deliver your report and, with your consent, to notify you of product updates. We do not send marketing email without your explicit opt-in.
We do not collect payment card data directly. Payment processing is handled by a PCI-compliant third-party processor; we receive only a transaction confirmation.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and deliver your vehicle report.
- To provide customer support if you contact us.
- To improve service reliability and detect fraud or abuse.
- To send transactional emails (report delivery, receipts). We will never send promotional email without your explicit consent.
4. Third-Party Data Sources
Vehicle history data presented in your report is sourced from third-party providers, which may include the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), commercial vehicle-history aggregators, government recall databases (NHTSA), and market-valuation services. We act as a conduit for this information — we do not originate, verify, or guarantee its completeness or accuracy.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with:
- Data providers — your VIN is transmitted to third-party data sources to fulfill your report request. These transfers are governed by our agreements with those providers.
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery, and payment processing partners who act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LemonMint or others.
6. Data Retention
We retain your report data for up to 12 months so you can access it again if needed. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@lemonmintreport.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and Analytics
We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand page performance. We do not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. You may disable cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to use the service.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS). We apply industry-standard security controls to stored data. No transmission method is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.
9. Children's Privacy
LemonMint is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with a revised effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of LemonMint after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
